Google Releases Caffeine

After months of speculation and rumors, Google has finally come clean about its newest web indexing service, Google Caffeine. Google has announced the completion of Google Caffeine’s implementation. Caffeine is now a hundred percent up and running.

It was in the second half of last year when Google hinted about Google Caffeine saying it was its brand new way of doing the search engine game. Google is already one of the most popular search engines in the world today and their initial announcement of Google Caffeine has had the web buzzing ever since.

Google Caffeine is basically a newer and improved version of doing search indexing. It was described as a faster and more accurate way of doing and outputting search results. This latest innovation was aimed at further improving the standards of search engine optimization. It was aimed to address the few glitches and weak points that many web developers have learned to take advantage of over time.

Caffeine uses a set-up that is different than those of the older versions. It intends to provide faster and more comprehensive search engine results to its users by using real-time information. Google Caffeine also relies more on keyword phrases as it provides searchers with more options that would make their searching more convenient.

With Google Caffeine, the latest results would include updates from social networking sites and recently published articles or blogs about the topic searched for. Using Google Caffeine means that you not only get back relevant content but also acquire content that are up to date and fresh.

Furthermore, Google states that the difference between Caffeine and its predecessors include the layers that the searches return to their users. Caffeine, according to Google, will analyze the data all around the world in smaller portions. With Caffeine, search indexes are also being updated on a continual basis, making sure that surfers get the latest results. They dubbed it as real-time search engine usage.

With the older index, the layers of searches are sometimes not updated for a period of time, making the returned results older and outdated about the topic. The delay between refreshing and updating these layers was one of the reasons that prompted Google to develop and introduce Google Caffeine.

So many web sites are popping out everyday so one can expect that information changes almost every second, no matter what the topics are. Google Caffeine aims to help users sort through all of these updates and be able to find what they need.

There are a couple of things that are not clear to me. At least not totally. The first one it has to do with Google’s news brief announcement. In it, there there are two images constrasting the differences between the old indexing and the new one. In the new one there images of video and pictures, that is media content, but Google says it only is still focusing on content. Why, then did they put this image? Remember: a picture says more than a thousand words.
The second one, it has to do with the way Google Caffeine analyses content. According to the news brief, it analyses information around the web in small portions. What is an small portion? How long does it takes to analyse the entire web? In my experience with my website is that is still taking a while to update new backlinks.
