With more and more people purchasing their very own iPads, there have been plenty of web developers who have used this gadget’s popularity to release their own products to their target consumers. Pulse is one of the new mobile apps released specifically for iPad users.
Pulse is a mobile news app that functions as a simpler news feeder. Just recently, Pulse developers updated the app and added personalization features that will allow users to not only save but also publish their very own feeds. The new feature added goes by the name of “My Pulse.”
Pulse in its most basic terms is really a more stylish RSS reader users can use minus all the overhead. With My Pulse, users can auto-share their news finds and other posts to their contacts. The main advantage of Pulse that made it so popular to iPad users is its ability to flip through web pages with relative ease. Pulse’s load time also takes lesser time than normal.
This new feature has made Pulse “more social” as it aims to encourage more people to use the app. It has also now been made available for Android and iPhone users. Users can create their own My Pulse account from the app itself. All they need to give is their Pulse name, a valid email address and their preferred My Pulse username. Adding posts to your My Pulse account requires tapping a heart icon on the side of your browser for the pages you want shared.
Not only is it an easier way of doing your RSS feeds, your contacts can also follow your stream of shared posts by typing your personalized URL generated by My Pulse. The whole thing will be powered by Posterous. Posterous is a blogging platform that boasts of integrated posting to various social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and many others. This means that your posts in your Pulse accounts can also be seen in other social media websites.
Pulse basically allows its users to post up to 20 different news feeds from different news sources. When you activate your My Pulse account, you will be getting an additional five feeds more. And since this is powered by Posterous, you can tweak and manage your settings in any way you prefer.
Pulse is available for download at the App Store for only $3.99.
